Protest in Noida: Laborers from Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar district (including Noida & Greater Noida) will greatly benefit from the recent wage hike, at the same time government of Uttar Pradesh has strongly denied the spread of a minimum wage of 20,000 through social media as baseless and fake.

The UP government under Yogi Adityanath has announced wage hikes for the workers. Witnessing the raging protests from the private sector employees of Noida, a city in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, the govt. decided to increase the provisional minimum wage. The govt. has declared that such the hike will come into effect from April 1, 2026. At most, the monthly salary of an employee is increased by 2,928. Also, the government has given instant financial assistance as of now. Next, the month a wage board shall be formed for the minimum wage determination process to be started.

Besides employees of Government buses and private bus stands, the employees of private enterprises also staged massive protests on Monday, April 13th in Noida.They demanded a hike in salary, overtime payment, weekly holidays, among other demands. A police vehicle was vandalized and more vehicles were burnt. The protest even reached to Lucknow and the Yogi government took immediate measures to curb the unrest.That very night, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a high-level meeting and decided to take steps that would calm the agitated workers.
