Dehradun: Judicial activities at the Dehradun District Court were interrupted on Thursday (February 19) due to a security alert. The administration of the court got a menacing email stating that a bomb was placed inside the building.

The Reply

Not taking any risks, the Dehradun Police began standard emergency procedures. High-ranking officials reached the location, and the whole courthouse was cleared. Litigants and attorneys were relocated to safety as the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and canine units searched the vicinity.

The Result

Following extensive searching, officials verified that no suspicious items were discovered. “A police official remarked that the threat seems to be a fabricated attempt to incite fear.” The investigation to trace the IP address and source of the email is now under the control of the cyber cell.

Chaupal’s Perspective:

Although the danger was not genuine, the disturbance was authentic. The safety of a state capital’s judicial center is crucial. This occurrence underscores the necessity for improved cyber-monitoring to prevent these types of digital interruptions.
