NANA PATEKAR PASSES AWAY AT 75 IN GOA
Acclaimed Indian actor and filmmaker Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa.
He was reportedly pronounced dead early in the morning despite prolonged attempts to revive him.
Patekar, known for his intense and versatile performances in Hindi and Marathi cinema, had a career spanning nearly five decades.
He rose to prominence with films such as “Parinda” and “Krantiveer” and also earned recognition for roles in “Salaam Bombay!” and several popular entertainers.
He was a three-time National Film Award winner and a recipient of the Padma Shri.

DELHI POLICE WARNS CITIZENS NOT TO JOIN OCTOBER 10 PROTEST, PLANS PRE-EMPTIVE DETENTIONS
Delhi Police have rejected permission for the October 10 Jantar Mantar protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), along with Left and youth groups, demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and a halt to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
Instead of allowing the assembly, police are reportedly meeting paying-guest owners, market associations and Resident Welfare Associations and urging residents to stay away from the protest area between October 7 and 10.

DELHI HC TO HEAR YOUTH CONGRESS PLEA AGAINST JANTAR MANTAR PROTEST DENIAL
The Delhi High Court has agreed to hear a plea by the Indian Youth Congress challenging the denial of permission to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar on October 9.
The protest is aimed at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
The petition challenges the authorities’ refusal to allow the demonstration, which the party says is intended to raise concerns over the conduct of the SIR exercise and the role of the CEC.
The court’s decision to hear the matter means the question of whether the protest can proceed will now be examined judicially as the October 9 date approaches.
