Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh | A matter regarding the possibility of academic record manipulation has come up in the case of a Class 3 student whose name was officially written as passed to Class 5.
Question was raised when a parent was concerned about educational development of their child attending a government school. The complainant stated that the pupil’s documents suggested they had been promoted to the next grade without necessarily completing the intermediate classes.
The local education department has become aware of this issue, and an internal investigation is anticipated to confirm the genuineness of the assertion and also look into the record-keeping methods at the school level. Parents here have expressed their apprehensions about the lack of transparency in reporting of academics under the Right to Education law, specifically with respect to admissions of Economically Weaker Section and the enforcement of the 25% quota in the private schools.
Officials said checking attendance records, examination records, and teacher reports will be done as part of the inquiry process. No formal disciplinary action has been announced so far, and the district education authorities have to give more clarifications. The matter has shed light on the monitoring system of primary schools in the region.
